“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
Viktor Frankl

Joselyn is a Master’s-level counseling intern who is passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where individuals feel seen, heard, and understood. She believes deeply in advocating for voices that often go unheard and strives to help clients feel less alone as they navigate life’s challenges. Joselyn approaches counseling with warmth, consistency, and genuine care, offering a calm presence during stressful seasons and emotional transitions.

Raised in a Christian household where service was central, Joselyn brings a strong foundation of compassion, humility, and purpose into her work. Her faith informs her values of empathy, presence, and respect, and she is committed to meeting clients exactly where they are—without judgment or pressure. She is especially passionate about supporting individuals who feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally drained, or stuck in negative thought patterns.

Joselyn works well with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional exhaustion, and difficulty regulating thoughts and emotions. She enjoys helping clients better understand what is happening internally, learn healthier coping strategies, and build confidence as they grow into stronger versions of themselves. Her approach is person-centered and collaborative, emphasizing trust, emotional safety, and steady support.

She also integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when appropriate, helping clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and understand how thoughts influence emotions and behaviors. Joselyn values the practical nature of CBT and may offer gentle, manageable exercises to help clients apply what they are learning outside of session. She views therapy as a team effort, working alongside clients at a pace that feels supportive and empowering.

Coming from a South Asian background, Joselyn understands the cultural pressure to remain strong, minimize emotions, or keep struggles private. This perspective allows her to be especially mindful of cultural dynamics and the courage it can take to open up. Her goal is to create a space where clients feel safe being honest—even when they are unsure how to put their experiences into words—and reassured that they are never a burden.

Clients often experience Joselyn as attentive, gentle, and deeply present. She focuses on building trust over time through consistency, active listening, and a nonjudgmental stance. Her hope is that clients leave sessions feeling lighter, more grounded, and more hopeful.

Outside of therapy, Joselyn enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new places, taking walks, and engaging in creative activities such as crafting, jewelry-making, painting, working with clay, and doing her own nails. She is continually growing in her clinical training and is committed to developing her skills so she can show up with wisdom, care, and confidence for those she serves.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or emotionally exhausted, Joselyn wants you to know that you do not have to carry it alone. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but you do not need to have everything figured out. Together, you will take things one step at a time.
