“Don’t brush off the small steps of progress. They count, too.” - Dr. Jenn Hardy
As a counselor, I am deeply committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward healing, growth, and empowerment. My name is Cali Burke, and I bring a wealth of experience and passion to my work, with a special focus on sports psychology, anxiety and depression, ADHD, and women’s issues.
From a young age, I witnessed the impact of mental health challenges within my own family—alcoholism, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and more. These personal experiences sparked a deep desire to walk alongside others navigating similar struggles, and ultimately inspired my path into counseling.
My approach is rooted in the belief that every person has the capacity for growth and change. I aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel supported and seen. I blend humanistic principles—such as empathy, acceptance, and unconditional positive regard—with evidence-based practices like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients identify limiting patterns, build resilience, and move toward their goals.
One of my primary areas of expertise is sports psychology, where I work with athletes and high performers to overcome mental blocks, manage stress, and tap into their full potential. As a former athlete, I understand the pressure that can come from within and outside, and I help clients build confidence, focus, and emotional balance—both on and off the field.
I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life, each with their own story. One client I’ll never forget was a woman battling anxiety, addiction, and low self-worth. Through our work together, she was able to reclaim her voice, rebuild her confidence, and move toward a life that felt meaningful again. Witnessing that kind of transformation is what continues to fuel my passion for this work.
I’m also deeply passionate about social justice and mental health advocacy. As a graduate of a social justice-focused counseling program, I believe that mental health care should be inclusive, equitable, and accessible to all. I strive to create a space where clients feel respected, empowered, and heard—regardless of their background, identity, or life circumstances.
Outside of my work as a counselor, I’m a lifelong learner and avid reader who enjoys getting lost in fantasy, historical fiction, and thrillers. I also cherish time spent with my family, friends, and my beloved pup, Queeni—who keeps me grounded and laughing.
In short, I’m here to walk with you through life’s challenges—whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, identity struggles, burnout, or simply looking for support and direction. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but together we can take it one step at a time.
